New Church Facilities

We'll soon be moving to a new church facility at Oasis. We're excited about what God is doing in our church and through our church and wanted to share it with you. We're definitely seeing God do what only He can do at Oasis. Our family has been impacted more than we can say by the ministry of Oasis Church. Visit www.insideoasis.com to see our new location.

Dalton's Birthday Party

We celebrated Dalton's birthday today with friends and family at Parkway Place Baptist Church in Little Rock. They have an awesome children's area that they make available to the public. They set up for the party and cleaned up afterwards. It was so great to be able to enjoy the day with Dalton and not worry about clean up. At one point, I asked the party coordinator if I could do anything and she said,"Go have fun with your son." What a blessing! As you can see in the pictures, we all had fun.

My room mate in college, Arlyn Howard, made Dalton's cake. Isn't it great! She has just started a new business called "Arlyn's Rolling Pin". If anyone is need of a cake...I can give you her phone #. I e-mailed her a picture of one I saw online and this looks just like the one I picked out. Great job Arlyn! Not only did it look good, but it tasted great, too!

Here is the Birthday Boy. He had a great time. He ripped through presents in record breaking time and told everyone a sweet, "thank you!" at the end. John and I also want to say thanks to all who came today. We are so blessed with wonderful and supportive friends and family. We love you guys!

Happy Birthday

Dalton is celebrating his 2nd birthday in his own unique way. Telling him to smile causes him to immediately tilt his head in a way that seems painful and smile. Somewhere he has learned that this is the way that it is done. And I have to say, it is kind of cute. He had a great birthday. He enjoyed lunch at his favorite restaurant (McDonald's). And tonight we went for an outing. We finished it up with a trip to TCBY. He enjoyed the white chocolate mouse. He actually ate more of it than what ended up on his clothes. He may be only 2, but he thinks he's as big as all the other kids he sees and, at times, can't figure out why he can't do what they do. I'm sure he'll soon be as big as he thinks he is.

Trip to the Park

On Sunday, we also got to keep Addison, Riley, and Saigel. I felt much like the old woman who lived in the shoe this weekend...she had so many children didn't know what to do! These are great kids! Dalton LOVES these girls! We loaded Saigel and Dalton in the wagon and Addison and Riley pulled them to the park. Several times on the way down, Dalton led the girls in one of his favorite Elmo songs..."Wild, Wild West!" They had a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Weekend with Austin

We got to keep Austin this weekend. It was a lot more work with two, but fun! He and Dalton were funny together. Especially at bath time. Austin is not used to the loud noises of Dalton. I told Dalton to show him his rubber duckie. He really liked it until Dalton started telling him very loudly what a duck says. "QUACK, QUACK!" Austin looked up at me and I could tell it scared him. He started crying and I told Dalton not to scream so loudly because he scared Austin. Well, that hurt Dalton's feelings that he had hurt Austin and he started crying too! All I could do was laugh! One minute they are laughing, the next minute crying. Too funny! ( I know...the funny part is that I got a picture of both!)
One minute we are happy.....
And the next minute...very sad!

These were some more pics from the weekend. Dalton is really into cowboy stuff. It all started with an Elmo movie called "The Wild, Wild West". He loves to put on his "towboy" hat and ride his "Bo" (that's his horse's name).

Addison and Riley got to come over on Sunday. I thought this was pretty cute of him and Riley being "rock stars"!

This was also a pretty funny moment this weekend, too. John was pretending to cry because Dalton would not come to give him a kiss. So instead of going to give Dad a kiss, he cries with Dad! Hey, if you can't beat 'em...join 'em!

St. Louis Trip

On Wednesday we left Dalton with Gran and Pop and John and I started our trip to St. Louis, MO. We stayed the night Wednesday in Sikeston MO, "the home of the flying rolls" a.k.a "Lambert's". It was worth the stay in that small town just to eat there! On Thursday, we went the rest of the way to St. Louis where John got to play his bass guitar in a youth conference called "Alive". We were there with Doug Mickan our worship leader at Oasis and several other members of the Oasis Worship Band. We were all there without kids and had a blast! However, I did hear by Saturday most everyone was ready to get back home to see their babies! Here are some pics of the band singing and John playing. He did a great job and I am so glad we got to get away together for a little while. It was a much needed break!

On Thursday night, the band Echoing Angels was there to put on a concert. These were the nicest people. They were very humble and very complimentary of our band. They seemed to really have a heart for worship. After the concert, they were out in the foyer signing autographs and taking pics with the kids. I sorta have a fascination with famous people, especially Christian singers, so I got my picture made with them too. I told them I understood I was the only adult out there waiting to have my picture made, but at least I realized my nerdiness and was embracing it! In case you do not know what song they sing, here are the words to my favorite song that they sing:
"You Alone are God, I am yours and you are mine, And I know the heavens will call out your name if I don't. You forgive me, You accept me, Just as I am. And you love me and you want me to understand."
