Happy Birthday Austin!

Baby Austin is 1! This is hard to believe! He is already walking and running and Big Sister Abby told me last night that he can say da-da and ma-ma. He is sooo big! His dad made the birthday cakes. There were 3 cakes that looked like a soccer ball, basketball, and baseball.

He has got this opening presents thing down!

Here are Dalton and Austin playing with cars that Grandma gave them. She said that when Jeff and John were little, Jeff always got the yellow and John always got the blue. So she gave Austin the yellow car and Dalton got a blue car. Dalton is showing Austin how to roll it on the floor.
Dalton really likes playing with my plastic dishes while I am cooking. The other night, he got out all these dishes and built this tower all by himself. I was busy cooking and the next thing I heard was "Look Mama!" I thought it showed some good problem solving skills on his part to figure out how to get all these to stack up. This is his dad coming out in him, no doubt!

Cowboy in Pajamas

Dalton put on his pajamas tonight and thought he also needed to put on his cowboy boots and cowboy hat. Every good cowboy has to wear his hat and boots to bed, right?

Dad was asking him if he heard anything in his boots...the ocean maybe?

I think we are finally getting to be a "snuggler" after all!

(Let me apologize to all of you who do not like country music, but i thought it was very fitting for the subject! )

Valentine's Day Weekend

Dalton was spoiled by both Grandmothers this weekend. Grandma came over on Friday night and gave a cute card with money in it to get whatever he needed. Dalton held up the money and said "Da-Da money?" I said"No, that's Dalton's money!" He was so excited he threw it up in the air and started rolling in the money on the floor. He said, "I swimming!" We'll be thinking about what we need to get with that money. Thank you, Grandma!

On Saturday, Gran' sent a sack of goodies. There was a Valentine's book, "Corduroy's Valentine", a Percy the tank engine (from Thomas the Train), and M&M's. He was pretty excited to get all this stuff, especially the M&M's! Gran' called when he was opening the present and he got to talk to her on the phone to say thanks.

Loving that Corduroy book, Gran!
M&M's are my favorite!
Eating M&M's and looking at my card from Grandma.

Look what I got!

"Thank you, Gran'!"

Addison and Riley's Bowling Party

Our friends, Addison and Riley West, turned 7 February 6. John and I love these girls and so does Dalton. In fact, every night we ask Dalton who he wants to pray for before he goes to bed. Every night we hear "Addison and Riley." But then the list continues with "....and Todd and Paige and Becky and Cindy and....." We eventually have to say "Thank you God for all our friends!" Last Sunday Addison and Riley had their 7th birthday party at the bowling alley. This was Dalton's first experience with bowling and he had a blast! Thank goodness for the ramp he could push the ball down and side rails down the lanes! He tied for 1st place with a grand score of 88! Good job, Dalton!

P.S. Thanks to Cindy and Jessica for sending me these pictures. I, once again, forgot my camera. What would we do without our friends?

Dalton's first shave

Ms. Pat Ferguson, a very sweet lady from church, gave Dalton a shaving kit today for his birthday. It is sooo cute! It came with shaving cream, a razor, mirror, brush, and comb. She said that her son had one of these when he was a little boy and when she saw this one it brought back a lot of memories and she just could not resist getting this for Dalton. She told Dalton to come all shaved up for church on Sunday! He had a great time with this in the tub tonight and I thought I would share.....

He laughed when he looked in the mirror and saw what he looked like!
