My new toys

These are some of my favorite toys that I got for Christmas. My cousins, Abby and Autumn, got me this T-ball stand with bat and ball. I am getting pretty good at hitting it off the stand.

My Gran and Pop bought me this Mr. Potato Head. I thought it was a little strange at first to be putting eyes and a nose in a potato, but once I got all the pieces in, I really liked it and wanted to do it again.
Say "Cheese" Mr Potato Head!

Christmas Part I

On Christmas day we went to John's parents for supper. Grandma made a wonderful supper and even made a special plate for Dalton with his favorite food...chicken nuggets, green peas, and macaroni and cheese. She always spoils her kids and grandkids at Christmas and this year was no exception!
Austin and Dalton...Isn't that cute!
Christmas is alot of hard work and I am "Ready to go!"
Grandma got me an Elmo video camera. "Say 'cheese'!"
Dalton has got this "ripping through presents" thing down pat...and then it was time to move to the next one....
Grandma always has a stocking for me to look in. He found a Sesame Street fork and spoon. Thanks Grandma!

Christmas Part II

On Friday, my family had our Christmas at Spencer's house in Bald Knob. It was so nice. He and Kim cooked all of our lunch which included steak, potato casserole, green bean bundles, corn, rolls, and dessert. Here are some pics of the day.

One of the gifts my mom got us was T-shirts and had us open them at the same time. I told them that mom probably thought of me first and then thought she had better get them one too! I suffer with that "middle child syndrome". HA!
Gina, Jason, and John working on a 1000 piece puzzle, which they almost had it completed by the end of the day.
Here's the whole crew...I love these guys!
This one is my favorite picture. My brother, sister, and I all got together and had family pictures made on Thanksgiving Day for my parents. It was a surprise for them and it was so hard to keep it a secret. My mom's face shows that it was still a surprise!

The Rockttes Radio City Christmas Spectacular

Our "Rockette" pose
The beautiful nativity scene
24 girls total

On Thursday night, I got to enjoy a "girls night out" with some ladies from work. We went to see the Radio City Rockettes. It was so much fun. I had been seeing the commercial on TV since the summer and was really wanting to go. My good friend, Dawne Carroll, was our wonderful "cruise director" for the event. She got all of us lined up, got the tickets, made the phone calls, drove the group to Alltel, and even got our good seats upgraded to even better seats. The Rockettes were awesome! It made my legs hurt, though, just to watch! What made the show even better is that they told the Christmas story from the Bible word for word and had a beautiful nativity scene at the end. I was so glad they did that!
Also, thanks to my wonderful husband for staying home with Dalton so that I could have some girl time that night. Thanks, Babe!
Here are some great pictures of the show that night. Thanks Lauren for being our "photographer" for the event!

Ice day!

Dad and Dalton sledding
First time sledders!
Our neighbor, Mr. Norm, sledding with Dalton
Daniel and Dalton getting pulled up the hill...this is the life!

"Oh what fun it is to ride in a little plastic sled....hey!" We had a great day today! There is one advantage to living on a hill.....sledding! Not only was it Dalton's first time to sled, it was my first time to sled, too. You see, growing up in the Delta of Arkansas, we had a lot of ice, but not many hills to sled on. I was as much into this as the kids were. Dalton liked it...I think. He was quiet for most of the ride down the hill and at the bottom I would say,"That was fun! Did you like that?" He said "No." But then when I pulled him to the top of the hill again he said he wanted to do it again. So I think he had fun....I know John and I did! Oh ,yah, thanks to the neighbors for letting us borrow their sleds. We have got to get one of those!

Breakfast with Santa!

On Saturday we went to the Maumelle Community Center for Breakfast with Santa. When Santa walked in, it was so great to see Dalton's face light up and wave hi to Santa. I was beginning to think he might sit in Santa's lap....WRONG! He clung to me so tight, you would have had to peel him off of my shoulder. You know, I really dont blame him. How wierd is this American tradition! We expect our kids to sit in a man's lap they do not know and to make it worse, he doesn't look like anyone they have ever seen before. All for the sake of a memory! Which i have been told is totally worth it! So needless to say, we got a family picture with Santa this year!

Circus, Circus, Circus!

Addison, Riley, Saigel, and Dalton
"What a majestic creature!"
The Mickans, Wests & Herrings
Dalton was intently watching everything.
Saigel let Dalton wear her circus hat.
"Bye Momma, Bye!"

We went to the circus today and it was so much fun. Dalton loved it. He especially loved the dogs and the elephants. For most of the show, he stood in the floor and could not get enough of everything. The 2 poor men in front of us had to put up with a little boy trying to get closer to the animals during most of the show. So many times I caught him even putting his hand on their shoulder. When the dogs came out, he kept saying, "Bye Momma!" I said,"Where are you going?" He said "Down there!" and pointed to where the dogs were. I think he was wanting to leave and "join the circus"! We went with our friends, the Mickans and the Wests. Thanks Doug and Cindy for getting all this together for everyone!

The circus is a lot of hard work!

I've got the Joy, Joy, Joy Joy...!

Here is some video of him singing "I've got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy!" Grandma got Dalton a CD player and he loves sitting and listening to his CDs. (that's all we do!) Thanks Grandma :) I am serving as background vocals for the song. Hope you enjoy!

Baking Cookies with Gran

Jameson, Dalton, and Tanner baked cookies with Grand before lunch on Saturday. They had a great time.
Dalton is putting icing on the cookies.
The boys are watching them bake with Grand.

Thanksgiving at Gran and Pop's

On Friday, we went to Pop and Gran's house. It was the first time in a long time that all 3 kids and their families spent the night together. We had a great time. In fact, Mom, Gina, Spencer,Alisha and Kim stayed up until 2 AM just visiting and catching up.
Pop and his boys

Jameson, Dalton and John riding the 4-wheeler. The boys loved it and did not want to get off!
These 2 had a great time tearing Gran's house apart!

Thanksgiving at Grandma Stacy's

On Thursday, we ate Thanksgiving lunch at Grandma Stacy's house in Quitman. Dalton loves going to Grandma's house because he loves her horse "Bo". In fact, every horse he sees is a "Bo". Here are some pictures of the day at Grandmas:

"Ready to go!"

We are cracking up at this boy and the things he comes up with. Tonight after supper, Dalton gets out of his chair and says, "Ready to go!" He crawled up in John's lap and John asked him where he wanted to go. He said,"Uhhhhhhhh.....Mal-mart! (aka "Wal-Mart")". 15 minutes later we found ourselves at Wal-Mart! We try to tell ourselves that we are still in control...yah, right!

Funny story!

I have a funny story tonight, but no pictures. We went to Taco Bueno to eat supper tonight. Dalton loves their chicken quesadillas. He walked in the restaurant ahead of me and John, ahead of all the customers waiting in line, went up to the counter, and hollered to all the cooks in the back, "I want chicken!" Everyone just cracked up laughing. He is learning at a very young age the routine of eating out. I wonder why?!

Neighbor friends!

We are really blessed to have such great neighbors. One of the neighbors that we really like are the Franklin's. They have 2 girls, Ashley and Claire and a son, Daniel. Daniel is only 2 weeks younger than Dalton. The girls have always been very sweet to Dalton and he loves playing with them. Christine, their mom, says that Daniel stands at his window crying for Dalton. He is very sweet! We love having neighbors that we can stand out in the yard and visit with.

Dalton's haircut

I am learning that when a kid does really well with something one time, does not mean that is the way it will always go. Dalton has had several haircuts before today. He has always done really well. NOT TODAY! He cried more with getting his haircut than he did the flu shot last week! Ms. Lindsay is my beautician and she has 3 boys of her own, so she was very patient and understanding. She was also really good at continuing to cut, even though he was moving his head, crying, screaming, etc... The bad thing is hair continues to grow and we will have to go back in about 2 months! AAAAH!
