Swinging Places, Happy Faces!

After months of saving our money and looking for the perfect swing set, we found one! We also decided the time to put it up was Memorial Day weekend. John started on Saturday afternoon and following 14+ hours of hard work.....DONE!

I decided to take a pic of all the hardware needed for the swing.

Some of the parts put together

Some of the wood

Our sweet friends, the Harringtons, had sympathy on us and came Sunday night to help. The kids had a great time playing together and kept Dalton distracted from the swing. On Saturday, he asked several times, "Is it done yet, Dada?", but Noah and Lilly kept him busy Sunday night and made putting the swing together a lot more bearable. Thanks guys!

John Herring and Jeff Harrington...what a pair!

Guys hard at work

Monday afternoon at about noon.....he got to take his first climb on the ladder!

Look at that face! Makes it all worth it!

First time down the slide! Weeee!

Sitting at the picnic table

His secret hideout underneath

Just a swingin'!

He climbed the ladder, went down the slide, and got up to the top and then decided before he got on the swings, he wanted to go get his friends to enjoy it with him. We went across the street and got Daniel, Claire, and Ashley to swing too! So sweet!

Thanks Dad!

The finished product!
(Sorry about the glare on the slide.)

Putting in the last bolt with dad! I can't wait for the many afternoons this summer spent playing on this swing set. Thanks babe for all your hard work! Your a great dad!

Wow- that is an amazing playground :) A little fancier than Nana & Granddad have, but inspiring for future add-ons...
